Presently in the middle of the winter season, our Christian Education program continues on, and continues to attract the attention of many of our parishioners.

On Sunday mornings at 9 am we have our adult education gatherings, reverently referred to as Kernels of Truth.  Presently, we are working through a series of DVD teachings from NOOMA starring Rob Bell, until recently of Mars Hill Bible Church.  These are very inspiring sessions with plenty of thought-provoking ideas.  The discussions of each topic are times of great spiritual nurture and growth for all who attend.

We also have a rousing Book Club that meets at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month.  For the month of February, we are examining the book JOB:  A Comedy of Justice, by Robert A. Heinlein.  This book is a science fiction account of a man and woman engulfed in a series of strange happenings in time.  The book to be looked at in March will be Falling Upward, by Richard Rohr, which is a discussion of his personal aging process, in a way that will help others to be less afraid of seeing and accepting that they are growing older day-by-day.

Our Tuesday night Disciples Bible Study continues in the study of the Books 1 & 2 letters Timothy, and Titus and Philemon.  Our regular meeting starts at 6:30 pm, and we are generally done about 8 pm.  We always welcome anyone who wishes to attend and welcome all new insight into the greatness of God’s Word.  I, Wes Miller, personally coordinate the discussions and am looking forward to the excited anticipation of all who attend.  If you would like to join us or need further information feel free to contact me at Holy Spirit, at home at (616)389-4859, or via e-mail at sogwapwpm@att.net.

Lastly, in February we will continue our  structured Children’s Fellowship during our regular worship service on the first and third Sunday of each month.  The program is geared towards elementary school-aged children (children ages 4-13); older children are of course welcome (we always need helpers!)  The other two Sundays, the children will be a part of the regular worship service.  Nursery will be available each week as required.  I look forward to seeing many new faces and enjoying the sweet bond that we all can have as God's beloved children, both young and old.
